A non-profit founded by a University of Dayton Student, Jamie Blodgett, Military Angels, will be partnering with a fellow non-profit Bears4Children's this December to give back to our community.
Bears4Children's was founded by Wright State University student, Callista Hess and her family in 2008. Since then the community has donated 2,767 bears to Dayton Children's Hospital for children who will be in the hospital during the holidays. Last year was the foundations 13th event where they donated 641 bears.
Military Angels began in 2019 with a supply drive at The Little Miami School District. The organization collected 3100 items to ship overseas. Jamie also works along side executive director, and University of Cincinnati student Paul Blodgett.
This Christmas, Callista and Jamie are teaming up, and they are asking for your help. From December 8th to the 22nd you can go to the Build-A-Bear store in The Mall at Fairfield Commons to make and purchase a bear of your choosing and then leave it behind the counter for the Hess family to pick up. There will be non-denominational cards available at the counter where you can sign and/or write a message to go with your bear.
If you are unable to come to the actual location, there are other ways you can help! You can make donations to Jamie-blodgett02 on Venmo that will go towards gift cards, drawstring bags, non-denominal holiday cards, etc. You can also email or reach out on social media with any questions:
