Jenny Han's Newest Series Stars - Lola Tung, Gavin Casalegno, and Chris Briney

41-year-old American Author Jenny Han is back again with another TV adaptation of a trilogy she wrote.

Han previously wrote the To All The Boys Series which came out in 2014, 2015, and 2017, and was later followed with three movies on Netflix. The three films came out in 2018, 2020, and 2021 respectively. That series shot Lana Condor and Noah Centineo into the spot light.

Now, Han is back with a television series on Amazon Prime titled "The Summer I Turned Pretty." The seven episode series follows Lola Tung's character Isabel "Belly" Conklin as she returns to Cousin's Beach with her older brother and her mother's lifelong best friend and her sons. It becomes very obvious that Han is a big fan of love triangles as we see Belly fall for Conrad "Con", “Connie” Fisher played by Chris Briney and Jeremiah "Jere" Fisher played by Gavin Casalegno.

19-year-old Lola Tung is a young actress and newcomer on the scene, with The Summer I Turned Pretty being her first acting role ever. She graduated from Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in New York City, which has famous alumni such as Timothée Chalamet, Ansel Elgort and Jennifer Aniston. Lola is currently studying at Carnegie Mellon University in The School of Drama Acting and Music Theater.

24- year-old actor Christopher (Chris) Briney has previously acted in Dali Land. Briney was born in Connecticut, but then began attending Pace University to pursue a BFA in Acting. Britney enjoys taking pictures, as well as pitching for a New York baseball team. Briney is currently dating actress Isabela Rose Machado.

Finally, 22-year-old actor Gavin Casalegno has previously worked on the 2011 thriller "Hear Me Whisper", a 2010 episode of Lone Star, and in the 2012 film "I am Gabriel." Then, in 2014 Casalegno was casted in the film "Noah." He enjoys soccer, and grew up in Texas. Casalegno has been dating model, dancer, and actress Larsen Thompson since around 2016.

The series was filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina and premiered on June 17th 2022, and fans will be happy to know it has already been renewed for a second season.
