A new series has hit Disney+, and Marvel fans are loving it.
The series centers around Hawkeye/Clint Barton played by Jeremy Renner and Kate Bishop played by Hailee Steinfeld. Florence Pugh plays Yelena Belova also known as black widows sister, and Alaqua Cox plays Maya Lopez/Echo.
Cox will play Maya Lopez in the spin-off series 'Echo.'
"Kate Bishop is a 22-year-old Hawkeye fan who becomes Barton's protégée and is trained to take over the mantle of Hawkeye. She draws the attention of Barton by masquerading as Ronin [when she finds Ronins wardrobe in a black auction.] Steinfeld described Bishop as "smart and witty" and a "badass", with physical abilities that are "through the roof", while Renner said she has "a wonderfully annoying and equally charming manner about her". Steinfeld learned archery because Bishop is "self-taught" and felt it was an important aspect of her character since she idolizes Barton."
In the Hawkeye series, the deaf community is represented in many ways. Alaque Cox plays Echo, the second deaf character in Marvel cinematic history. Similarly, in this series Clint Barton wears hearing aids following the aftermath of Avengers: End Game. In an effort to welcome his new co-star Alaque, Jeremy Renner learned basic ASL, and Hailee Steinfeld learned ASL as well.
