2002, 2004, and 2007 saw Tobey Maguire as the infamous role of Peter Parker in Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, and Spider-Man 3 and ever since then the, now 46-year-old actor, has earned quite the loyal fanbase for being the first Spiderman actor.
Following Maguire's decade long run as the spider-man actor, SONY then casted, now 38-year-old actor Andrew Garfield to play the 2012 and 2014 Spider-Man. Garfield Players the webbed slinger in The Amazing Spider-Man, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but was never brought back for a third film.
Then, in 2015 Marvel hired English Actor Tom Holland to play Spider-Man in the new films that would first be released beginning in 2017 with Spider-Man: Homecoming. Two Years later in 2019, Marvel released the sequel Spider-Man: Far From Home. 25-year-old actor, Holland has also made appearances in the avengers films: Infinity War and Endgame as well as Captain America: Civil War.
Now, heading into 2021 with possibly Holland's last film playing Spider-Man Marvel was ready to bring together all three heroes. Holland was joined by both Maguire and Garfield in Spider-Man: No Way Home that hit theaters in early December, and fans were not disappointed.
Holland commented on Maguire's return saying “He was really excited to be back. You could tell it really meant a lot to him. Him putting the suit on again. Us getting back together. It was awesome.” Holland also spoke on Garfield's return noting that “Andrew Garfield, the legend himself. He's such a lovely guy...I think this film was his way of making peace with Spider-Man. It was such a privilege to work with him. I know that it meant a lot to him.”
Now, the film is well on its way to earning $1 billion in the box office, becoming the first and only movie and 2021 to reach that amount. The team behind No Way Home are also pushing for an Oscar, if they succeed Spider-Man will be the first Marvel film to win the coveted award.
